This article examined the proposed Stratos Data Center project in Box Elder County and the debate surrounding its economic benefits and environmental concerns. I conducted interviews, researched supporting sources, and wrote the article using Associated Press style and the inverted pyramid structure. The project required balancing multiple viewpoints while presenting accurate and objective information. Through this assignment, I strengthened my interviewing, research, and news writing skills.

More Than Four Walls: Charlie Backus and the Meaning of Home

This feature article profiled Utah real estate agent Charlie Backus and explored his perspective that homes represent security, opportunity, and family memories. The article combined personal interviews, background research, and narrative storytelling to create a human-interest profile. The project emphasized relationship building, interviewing techniques, and feature writing. Following publication, Charlie Backus requested permission to use the article in his marketing efforts, providing real-world validation of the project’s effectiveness.
